Bible Verse Thursday Challenge #100! - Heart to Heart!

"Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me." Psalm 51:7-10

For this week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts, create a card, layout, or altered item "from the heart". Do you need to have a "heart to heart" conversation with a friend or loved one?....Begin that conversation with God's word and see where it leads. Or create something for someone dear to your heart. Another option for the challenge is to use hearts on your project, whether it be stamps, gems, designer paper, etc. Let's see those hearts.....literally, emotionally, or spiritually! Have fun and God Bless!

When uploading your project to the CPC gallery, please use the Keyword BVT100. If uploading to any additional online galleries, please use the Keyword CPC-BVT100. There are no time limits for this challenge, however, since it is BVT number 100, those who upload to the CPC gallery or submit to the linky tool here on the CPC Blog, by Wednesday, April 6th at 6 pm EST, will have a chance to win a little something special from Christian Paper Crafts! Also, I will be drawing a name from the comments here on my blog for this challenge, and one lucky winner will receive my sample card! Bible Verse Thursday / Stamping in Time Challenge Combo!

Happy Thursday, everyone!! It's time again for a new Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts AND a brand new Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge over at the Our Daily Bread designs blog! You know I can't resist challenge combos, so I have combined these two once again!

Here are the deets for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge:

"It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him." Lamentations 3:22-24

This week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge theme is "Measure Up"! While creating your card, layout, altered item, or gift, think of different ways that we use "measurements"...we measure time (day, night, calendars, clocks, etc.), we measure ingredients while cooking, we measure our material when sewing, etc. Perhaps you could use a scripture which speaks of measurements...."my cup runneth over", or "the Lord is my portion", etc. We can't wait to see your take on the challenge! I have also incorporated last week's Wednesday Case Artist challenge...I couldn't pass up the opportunity to case one of sweet Lynn Ray's beautiful cards.....I chose this gorgeous card to re-create. Also, this week's Shining the Light Challenge at ODBD is all about new life/flowers/easter, etc......couldn't resist but incorporate it too!!!

Here is the "ingredients list" for my "Measure Up" sample:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread designs "Scripture Collection 5"
Cardstock: SU Marina Mist, Whisper White
Designer Paper: Memory Box "Minuet"
Ink: SU Marina Mist
Accessories: Flower Soft Card Topper, Ultrafine Flower Soft Raspberry Fizz and Sage, Original Flower Soft Baby Blue, Zva Creative Pearls, "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, May Arts Crocheted Lace and Satin Ribbon, Bow Easy, Paper Piercer and template
Techniques: Paper Piercing, Flower Soft

Here is a close-up view of the beautiful scripture verse surrounded with a Flower Soft bouquet:

Our Daily Bread designs' 3rd Anniversary Blog Hop!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread designs' 3rd Anniversary New Release Blog Hop!!!! What a total blessing it is to be a part of such a wonderful company and an amazing team of Christian ladies! An extra blessing is to be able to choose a scripture verse to be made into a rubber stamp for the Scripture Collection sets on each anniversary!! Check out all of the Anniversary New Releases HERE. The verse I chose this year is Psalm 85:11 "Faithfulness springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven." Each of the "Breadsticks" from the design team, challenge team, and scrapbook team chose a verse.....these make up the new anniversary sets of Scripture Collection 5, Scripture Collection 6, and Scripture Collection 7. Plus, there is an awesome new border set, called "Fancy Labels" , which I have also used on my sample.

The Fancy Label was stamped twice in Cool Caribbean, cut out the center oval of one, sponged the edges, and popped it up in the center over the 2nd Fancy Label, which was cut out with Spellbinders Labels 17. The designer paper is Prima "Madeline", the Offray ribbon (which my mother-in-law picked up at a yard sale!) was tied with a Bow Easy. Paper piercing, Basic Grey Opaline Pearls, and lots of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist was added for the finishing touches.

I have used my new verse for the Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts, for which the theme is "Heaven and Earth". I have also used Gloria's Sketch Tuesday Challenge for the layout of this card;
The Color Challenge at Splitcoast this week is Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, and Crumb Cake...what a beautiful combo!;
AI Factory: Things With Wings;
Charisma Cardz: To Die For;
Timeless Tuesday at Flourishes: Butterflies;
Papertake Weekly: Three of something (three sets of three pearls!);
Stampin Sisters In Christ: Something you treasure: God's word on a rubber stamp, Glimmer Mist, pearls, and satin ribbon!!;
Basic Grey: Wings....the pearls are Basic Grey Opaline.

How would you like to choose a scripture verse to be made into a rubber stamp for an Our Daily Bread designs stamp set?! Did you see the news on the ODBD blog about the Second Customer Favorites Contest?! Go to this post to submit your verse....make sure you read all of the details to make sure that your submission qualifies! Good luck!!

Bible Verse Thursday / Stamping In Time Challenge Combo!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!! Time for another Bible Verse Thursday / Stamping In Time Challenge combo!!! As winter is coming to an end, the Lord is showing us many new miracles as the spring flowers and trees begin to come back to life. So, in the spirit of spring, this week's Bible Verse Thursday Challenge theme at Christian Paper Crafts is "Fabulous Florals". Create a card, layout, altered item, etc., and use any type of flowers.....floral designer paper, floral stamps, flower shaped buttons, floral embellishments, or a scripture verse mentioning flowers or blossoms, etc.

For my sample, I have used a scripture verse from "The Lord Is Risen" set by Our Daily Bread designs, along with Basic Grey "Origins" designer paper, May Arts Satin Embroidered Ribbon tied with a Bow Easy, Zva Creative Pearls, Martha Stewart Doily Lace Border Punch, Ranger Crackle Accents, "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, and Spellbinders Big Scalloped Ovals.

Here is a close up of the "cracked glass" effect from the Ranger Crackle Accents....simply squeeze it from the bottle over your project and let it dry...it crackles on its own.

Today also kicks off another Stamping in Time: On Assignment Challenge with Our Daily Bread designs. Since ODBD's third anniversary is next week, this week's challenge theme is inspired by traditional gift ideas for a third anniversary. We are using glass/crystal/clear as our theme. You can use any technique, product, or embellishment that conveys to you the glass/crystal/clear theme. Not only does product fit into this theme, but think about scriptures and Christian meanings as well. We look forward to seeing what you create using ODBD stamps! Check out the details on how to win $ toward ODBD stamps HERE on the ODBD blog. Good luck!!

New, Exciting Flower Soft Kits!!!!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!!!! Last week I wrote a tutorial for Our Daily Bread designs' blog on the new Flower Soft Card Topper Kits.....these are the projects I made while trying out the new goodies!! To see the full review, please check out this Product Review post on the ODBD blog.

This card was made with the new Flower Soft Dimensionals Kit....there are four awesome designs in this kit....all of the pieces are die cut, you just punch them out and pop them up....you've got to check them out!!! This, by far, is my fave Flower Soft kit ever!!! The sentiment is from a new ODBD set called "Eternity", the pearls are Zva Creative, the crocheted ribbon is by May Arts, and there are several sprays of "Pearl" Glimmer Mist, even though it is camera shy.

Here is a close up of the dimensional sections, which are die-cut as well (doing the happy dance here!). I added a small amount of Baby Blue Flower Soft here and there....click on the photo for a closer look.

This card was made with the new Flower Soft Lavender Kit....most of the pieces in this kit are Spellbinder compatible! (Please see the Product Review for the details on that!) The scripture verse is from a new ODBD set, "He Will Rise", the May Arts Satin ribbon was tied with a Bow Easy, the pearls are by Zva Creative, the background was embossed with a CB Victoria Embossing Folder, Lilac Flower Soft, and you can actually see the "Pearl" Glimmer Mist on this one!!!

This was a super fun project! There are two new Flower Soft Village Kits....I used three of the four scenes from the Flower Soft - Country Village Kit. I trimmed around each outline, matted them on Garden Green cardstock, and trimmed the mats by hand, punched holes with a Cropodile, attached the "pages" with grosgrain ribbon, then added various Flower Soft colors.

This section with the beautiful church was such a joy to decorate, so I used the "Rejoice" sentiment from the "Tulip Tag Set" by ODBD. I chose Lilac and Shamrock Green Flower Soft to embellish the wisteria and vines.

I love this adorable little flower shop. The scripture verse is also from the "Tulip Tag Set". Here are the Flower Soft colors I used for this scene: UltraFine Strawberry, Earth, and Citrus Crush....plus original Flower Soft in Lavender.

This little cottage was also super fun to embellish....I don't know which scene I love most! The "Happy Spring" sentiment is from the ODBD "Daffodil Tag Set" and I used Shamrock Green original Flower Soft plus Raspberry Fizz from the Ultra-fine Flower Soft line.

Thanks for stopping by to visit today! If you haven't yet, you should try some Flower Soft....super easy and super fun!!! Have a blessed week!!!

Bible Verse Thursday Challenge - Rise & Shine!

Happy Thursday, everyone!!! Time for another Bible Verse Thursday Challenge over at Christian Paper Crafts. To give you a sneak peek of what's to come (on the 15th) for this month's Design Team Delights theme of "He Is Risen", this week's BVT challenge theme is "Rise & Shine"! Every spring, many Christians are getting ready to celebrate Resurrection Day (or Easter, for some)....where we focus on our Lord's ultimate sacrifice and gift for us. Not only did He die for our personal salvation, but according to God's law, this was the only way that we could be re-married to Him. I can only image how beautiful the marriage ceremony will be!!

Now, back to the challenge...there are MANY ways to approach this theme....please feel free to think outside of the box. Here are some options for this challenge (and remember, cards, layouts, altered items, etc are all welcome!):
Create a project focusing on Jesus, the cross, scriptures about His death, burial, or resurrection, our salvation;
On the less serious side, you could focus on other things that rise, like the sun, or the tide, or breads/pastries, etc.;
Now on the "shine" side of the challenge, use something shiny, or sunshine, or what happens when it's sunny, etc. Get the picture? Stretch the challenge any way you like, just let us know what your inspiration was.

I have also used the following challenges in the making of this card:
Gloria's done it again this week for
Sketch Tuesday at CPC.....see her awesome sketch to the left;
Mary's
Color Monday Challenge at CPC ...the inspiration photo is full of beautiful blues and browns;
CCEE Challenge: swirls (there are swirls on the designer paper);
Pals Paper Arts: Color Challenge of Baja Breeze, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!!! God Bless!!!!
